Replacing Outdated Restorations
So many patients tell us that that they hate the way their old gray fillings look and wish there was something they could do about them. The older style amgalgam or “gray” fillings are definitely not cosmetic restorations! The average amalgam filling lasts for about 5-15 years, so it may be time for an update. Over the years fillings may start to leak around their edges due to normal wear and trauma. It is also very common for teeth to develop cracks that radiate from the old fillings through tooth structure that can eventually lead to big problems. The good news is that we can easily replace old fillings with new tooth colored composite or porcelain restorations. The modern materials we use today are much more aesthetic than those used in years past! Call our office and we can set up a consultation to discuss what would be best for you. (225) 925-2273
